The Department of Welfare subsidizes inmates of the old aged home and children's home. The subsidy only constitutes 35% of the total budget. The income-generating projects we have supplements the subsidy. The organization plan for a long term supports of the programme by developing these projects into small business through proper training and marketing.
In our Old Age Home, we really experience problems since our resources are very limited hence our elderly people are mostly frail. We have 70 aged persons in our centre. It can be of great help if we could acquire funds to purchase beds, wheelchairs. blankets', clothing. medicines and support to provide them with nutritional food. With our income-generating projects we mainly lack in the equipment and material to successfully Implement our programmes. The entire community also benefit from these projects as jobs are created. Our centre needs renovation as our building experience leakages during rainy days and the place is getting overcrowded due to an increasing number of destitute.
